Narration: good.

Story: I almost skipped this book two or three time because the didn't know what he was talking about when it came to technology.

Bova didn't do his research therefore had electronics impacted or disabled by a geo-synchronous electro magnetic pulse (EMP) intended to knock out satellites and not ground base electronics.

The cellular network operates off ground base radio towers and therefore would not be knocked out. Cell phone would remain fully functional. Only the uridem cell/satellite phones that use the satellites would be impacted.

The GPS satellites were designed and deployed by the US military and are harden against EMP.

Another thing is the entertainment industry, TV networks and radio use satellite communications. Long distance and international phone calls and data are carried by fiber optics cable and no long use satellites.
