It was a good book, and made better by the narrator, Mark Nelson. The book had a similar plot with other books in which a scientist and associates discovers an underground civilization. The civilization had both evil and good/friendly groups/tribes/cities. As usual the scientist returns to the surface alone and without evidence of the civilization.
